BADMINTON FUNCTION
TE AWAMUTU CLUB [BT TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] TE AWAMUTU. Sunday A large attendance of members and friends was present at the official opening of the Te Awamutu Badminton Club's season. The president, Mr. W. J. Craik, reviewing the past year, stated that the first team reached the final of the B grade in the Waikato Sub-Association's inter-club competition.. He mentioned the popularity of the game in the district, and that the club for the first time had to limit its membership. A series of mixed doubles was played, supper being served by the ladies' committee. Among those present were Mrs. Wing, Misses Cruickshank (2), Miss h. Melville, Miss D. Peatre, Miss M. Clark, Miss M. Quin and Miss Clarke.
