WOMEN'S LUNCHEON CLUB

At .a meeting of the Women's Luncheon Club, held in the Milne and Ghoyce Reception Hall on Thursday, an address entitled "Celebrities I Have Met," was given by Mr. C. E. Jones, of Christchurch. Mrs. Gulliver presided. Personal descriptions were given aud anecdotes related concerning such people as Mr. Lloyd George, the late Lord Birkenhead, Bishop Wood, Gladys Cooper, Marie Ncy (formerly of Wellington) and other well-known people. Speaking of the present time Mr. Jones emphasised the part that the younger generation could play in furthering the work of the Empire and in upholding its prestige
