GOOD SEASON
DAIRYING IN NORTH HIGH PRODUCTION TO DATE OUTLOOK RARELY BETTER [utOM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHftNGAREI, Sunday "It is the best season I have known for the dairy farmers in North Auckland," said Mr. E. S. Tremaine, chairman of the Whangarei Co-operative Dairy Company, when discussing the dairying situation in the north. With two months to go before the season concluded, the company's production was bv far the largest since its inception, and it was confidently expected that the output would exceed 3000 tons. All classes of stock are in excellent condition, and feed for this time of the year is phenomenal. At no time during the present season has there been a .shortage of feed, and as a result farmers have made ample provision for winter and early spring feeding. They have not been unduly troubled by flooding this season. Although the rain has been extensive, it has been accompanied by a very warm atmosphere. Stock generally has been less affected by seasonal complaints and losses have been small. A record production is common to practically all dairy factories in North Auckland. With the improved financial position of farmers there has been a very much increased use of fertilisers for pastures, and this has considerably assisted the increase in production. The. winter outlook for farmers in the north has rarely been better.
