METAL ISSUES IMPROVE
Trading for the week closed quietly in the investment market on the Auckland Stock Exchange at the single call on Saturday. Buyers came in strongly i for Government loans, but sellers held back and only one issue was dealt in. Among banking issues both New Zealands and 'Nationals of New Zcalaiuls were a shade easier. Insurances tended to firm. Pastorals again presented a strong front. Dominion Breweries continued to hold late rates in a transaction at 42s (kl. Metal shares improved. Broken Hill Proprietary gained .'id in dealing at 84s 3d. Electrolytic Zinc, preference, were lifted Sd on sale at 59s Bd, while the * ordinary issue also strengthened. Consolidated Bricks failed to hold the recent improvement and values eased. There was a firmer tendency in Wilsons Cement.
