VAN OVERTURNED

IMPACT WITH A CAR DRIVER FAILS TO STOP [Br TELEGRAPH —OWX CORRESPONDENT] WHANGAREI. Monday What is alleged to be a " hit and run " collision occurred on the Wlia-ngarei-Whakapara Road. A telegraph linesman, Mr. S. E. Boyd, was returning to Whangarei in a van when a motor-car travelling in the opposite direction skidded in some loose metal at the Opuawhanga turn-off and collided with the van, which overturned into a ditch. Mr. Boyd fortunately received only a scalp wound and bruises. He states that the car did not stop, and by the time he had climbed out of the van it had disappeared. The police are making inquiries.
