DERAILMENT OF TRUCK
TANEATUA EXPRESS DELAYED ACCIDENT NEAR PAEROA Owing to the derailment of a truck attached to a Frankton-Paeroa goods train at Tirohia, five miles from Paeroa, at about 12.30 p.m. yesterday, the Taneatua-Auckland express was delayed for an hour. The AueklandTaneatua express also was held up for about 20 minutes. The accident occurred on the main line near the Tirohia station. No damage occurred, but two hours elapsed before the line could be cleared. The Taneatua-Auckland express, with about 60 passengers on board, arrived at the scene at 1.35 p.m. and did not continue its journey until 2.35 p.m. The train was nearly 1£ hours late when it passed through Hamilton, but made up time on the run to Auckland, arriving shortly after 7 o'clock instead of at 6.20.
