A flag five hundred competition was held- in the Tauhei Hall in aid. of funds for the Women's Division. The winners were Messrs. N. Brown, D. Hewson and H. Raynel. Consolation prizes were awarded to Mr. and Mrs. J. Findlay and Mrs. Curphy. The first of a series of informal monthly socials arranged by the social committee of Messrs. Turnbull and Jones, Limited, was held last night in the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society's hall in Grafton Road. Dancing and impromptu items provided enjoyable entertainment. The committee comprised:—Miss B. Seager. Messrs. C. J. Lenihan, J. D. Morrison, C. Harvey and H. E. Lewis.
