MAORIS PROHIBITED
[bt telegraph—own correspondent] OPOTIKI, Tuesday Prohibition orders were issued against four Maoris who appeared in the Police Court on charges of drunkenness. In one case the defendant had a wife and 20 children and was drawing a family allowance. The police stated that he made a weekly practice of getting drunk. In another case a relief worker tvas said to l'iaro wasted bis money on drink and failed to support his children, who were cared for by his sister.
