ROTORUA-BAY OF PLENTY ELECTION OF OFFICERS [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] ROTORUA, Tuesday The sound position of the Rotorua and Bay of Plenty Hunt Club was disclosed in the annual report, which was presented at the annual meeting of the club, attended by members of the Rotorua, Tauranga, Whakatane and Te Puke wards, and presided over by the master, Dr. H. Bertram. The annual report stated that during the past year 120 new members were admitted, bringing the total membership up to 369, which includes 31 honorary members. The pack had been strengthened by young blood and exchange adjustments with other hunt clubs, and at the end of the year the pack was 18 couple strong. A handsome profit of £Bl4 Is 8d had been made as a result of the inaugural totalisator meeting held by the club last November. The club had applied for November 13 as the date of the totalisator meeting this year. In the general account, the club had a credit of £635 19s 4d at the close of the year, and the assets stood at £BB7 9s 4d. The following officers were elected: — Deputy-master, Mr. 0. It was decided that the opening hunt of the season should be held on country adjacent to Rotorua on Saturday, May I, the assembly to bo at the Rotorua post office at 11.45 o'clock. Eight new members were elected. i MARAMARUA MEET THREE GOOD RUNS The Maramarua Hunt held a meet on Saturday. The first run was a short fast one round Mr. F. A. Downie's property into Mr. Maxwell's, and doubled back oil a kill in Mr. Downie's. The second run started in Mr. Goodwin's, and went right across Mr. Downie's, across Mr. Hale's, where the hounds had to be whipped off on account of sheep. A third hare was put up in Mr. Halo's, and resulted in a run of about four miles. The hounds ran well and were "speaking to it" all the way. The scent went across Mr. Hale's, Mr. Jones', and Mr. Peach's, and back across Mr. Hale's, and a kill occurred just where the hare was put up. The -final run was interfered with by a heavy shower, and the hounds were whipped off for the clay. Among the followers were:—Master, Mr. J. D. Fagan, on Llewellyn; huntsman, Mr. S.
