FUTURE PILOTS
MILITARY AVIATION MORE CANDIDATES EXAMINED Further Auckland candidates for short-service commissions in the Royal Air Force and the Royal New Zealand Air Force were interviewed yesterday by the selection committee consisting of Wing-Coinmaiider the Hon. U. A. Cochrane. Chief of Air Stall', and Wing('ommander T. M. Wilkes and Squad-ron-Leader L. M. Isitt, Chief Staff Officers for Equipment and Personnel respectively. Applicants total about 2500, and there are 2-1 vacancies. The committee visited Hobson ville Air Rase yesterday afternoon, and in the evening Wing-Commander Cochrane left for the south. The two other members of the committee will complete the remaining interviews, about 10, this morning, and later they will leave for Wairakei by motor-car, on their way to Napier, where further candidates will be interviewed. A number of the Auckland candidates who have already presented themselves before the committee have received notices to attend for examination by a medical board. However, no selections have been made, nor will this be possible until the committee has completed its tour of New Zealand.
