SANDRINGHAM FUNCTION

CALEDONIANS' INGLESIDE Over 200 members and friends of the Sandringham Caledonian Society gathered in the Carlton Hall on Saturday evening, when a most successful and enjoyable inglesido was held. The hall was attractively decorated, a feature being the stage drapings with a background of curtains bearing the lion rampant of the Scottish standard in bold relief. The chief, Mr. W. D. Fulton, who was piped to the stage by the society's piper, Mr. J. Fox, welcomed the visitors, who included representatives of the Devonport, _ Onehunga, Otalnihu Caledonian Societies, the St. Andrew's Societies of Auckland and New Lynn, and the Scottish Regimental Association. A programme was contributed by Mr. R. Brodie and Mrs. Ellis, who rendered vocal solos, and Miss Mavis Ward and her pupils, who gave exhibitions of Highland reels and dances. The piping accompaniments were played by Miss Ward and Mr. Fox. The programme was directed by Mr. W. Freeman and supper was served under the direction of the ladies' committee.
