JAPANESE ADMIRAL
TOUR IN SOUTH SEAS DISPELLING OF SUSPICIONS (Received April 5, 10.55 p.m.) TOKIO, April 5 Newspapers announce that the Gov-ernor-General of Formosa, Admiral Seizo Kobauashi, this summer will tour countries in the South Seas for two months, including the Philippines, the Dutch East Indies, Singapore and Hongkong;. The purpose of the tour will be to expound the peaceful character of Japan's Southward expansion, and to dispel the suspicions which are reported to be partly due to the Admiral's own appointment, by which Japan's southernmost outpost will be under the administration of a naval leader.
GOOD TRADE RELATIONS AUSTRALIA AND JAPAN TOKIO, March 27 Mr. Kuramatsu Murai, former ConsulGeneral for Japan in Australia, on his arrival to-dav at Kobe, stated that trade relations between Australia and Japan were generally satisfactory. Mr. Murai said he did not anticipate serious difficulties in the near future, but cheap Japanese goods were unpopular. He added that the application of Japan's trade protection law had not helped his negotiations.
