SPANISH DECREE NATIONALS ABROAD NEWSPAPER BANNED CORRESPONDENT EXPELLED By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright LONDON. April 4 The War Ministry at Valencia has issued a decree calling on all ablebodied Spaniards abroad belonging to classes already called up to return to Spain immediately and join the colours. Mr. Noel Monks, formerly of Melbourne, who acted as a correspondent during the Abyssinian war, and is now representative of the Daily Express in Spain, has been expelled from General Franco's territory and the Daily Express banned owing to objectionable articles in the paper. The Bilbao representative of the Times states that the elaborate Basque defence system halted the assault of General Mola's Sixth Army--after three days of violent fighting in mountainous terrain.
