NOTES FROM TE PUKE
RESIDENTS FAREWELLED Bowls of dahlias (ind autumn leaves decorated the lounge of the Te Puke Lyceum Club on Friday afternoon when the members held a bridge and mail jongg party. The guest of honour was Mrs. D. G. MeCallum, who will leave shortly to reside in Dannevirko. During the afternoon the president, Mrs. H. A. Vercoe, oh behalf of the members, made a presentation to Mrs. MeCallum. Among those present were: —Mesdomes H. A. Vercoe, D. G. MeCallum, 0. Knight, H. N. Freeman, E. H. Hargreaves, J. Ball, R. 13. McCaw, 6. H. Mends, D. F. Wickhain, A. B. Mollgaard, J. I. Vercoe, A. Montgomery, C. H. Perring, J. E. Tod, D. D. Potts, E. J. Ramson, A. E. Spratt, W. G. Dodds, 0. P. CartheHv, H. T. Cashmore, A. V. Bayliss, A. Forrester, G. Darvill, Misses K .Jamieson, Chappell, F. Bush. Prizes were won by Mrs. J. E. Tod and Mrs. A. Montgomery. A gathering was . also held to farewell Mr. and Mrs. MeCallum at St. Andrew's Hall. During the years Mr. and Mrs. MeCallum resided in To Puke they were closely associated with the activities of the Presbyterian Church and on the financial side Mr. MeCallum had given efficient service as church treasurer. On behalf of the congregation, the Rev. J, C, McCaw made a presentation of a coffee set to the quests of honour. Items were contributed by Mrs. C. P. Carthew, Mrs. Grudnoff, Miss Chappelle and Mr. .f Caldwell.
Mrs. M. Hickson, Pongakawa, accompanied by Miss B. Hickson, is spending a holiday at Piha.
Mrs. W. E. Hookey, Oxford Street, Te Puke, has returned from a holiday in Auckland. m Mrs. L. Randell, Jellicoe Street, To Puke, has returned from a brief visit to Auckland.
Mrs. G. T. Rundle has left on an extended motor tour of the North Island. Mrs. H. Granger, Boucher Avenue, Te Puke, is visiting Auckland. Mrs. D. G. MeCallum, No. 2 Road. To Puke, will leave to reside in Dannevirke next week. Miss E. Munro, Boucher Avenue, Te Puke, is visiting Hamilton and Auckland.
