OBITUARY
MR. HENRY MEAD [by TELEGRAM —OWN correspondent] HAWERA, Monday A prominent resident of Manaia and a man who was engaged in tho kauri gum industry in North Auckland from 1887 to 1906, Mr. Henry Mead, has died in Manaia. Born at Aylsbury, Buckinghamshire, England, in 1862, Mr. Mead migrated to Australia in 1885 and spent two years in the Broken Hill silver mines before coining to New Zealand. Ho was at one time chairman of the Manaia Town Board.
