WELLINGTON DISTRICT CASE AT BERHAMPORE CLOSING OF LOCAL SCHOOL [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION'] WELLINGTON, Monday A boy aged seven years was admitted to hospital to-day from Berhampore suffering from infantile paralysis. The Berhampore School, where he is a pupil, has been closed. The Health Department has been notified of a case at Feilding. The patient is a girl. A child from Mount Cook, Wellington, is a suspect, but the authorities state that probably the patient has not contracted the disease. SUFFERER IN WAIKATO LITTLE GIRL AFFECTED [from our own corrkspondent] HAMILTON, Monday A little girl aged two, from Kio Kio, was admitted to the Waikato Hospital yesterday suffering from infantile paralysis affecting the right leg. The case is a positive one and the condition of the patient was reported to-day as satisfactory. This is the third case reported in South Auckland since Thursday, when two schoolboys were admitted to hospital. The only other case in the district was that of a. young woman from Te Aroha at Christmas. The boy was admitted to the Wairoa Hospital late on Friday afternoon as a suspect, and it was reported to-day that the case had been diagnosed as positive. There are now two cases in hospital. The Nuhaka School has been closed for a fortnight. , MANAWATU victims ALL FROM COUNTRY AREAS [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] PALMEHSTON NORTH. Monday Another suspected case of infantile paralysis has been admitted to hospital. The patient is a boy of four years, who comes from Colyton. He is not displaying definite signs of paralysis, and is expected to prove negative. Of the suspected cases recently admitted one has proved positive, being a 10-year-old boy from Waituna. He and other patients, are in a satisfactory condition. There are now seven actual cases in hospital, but it should be noted that none is from the city area, the nearest being from Aorangi, ten miles away. The Sanson School has bpen elbsed owing to a suspected case in that district.
