COMMENT ON FORM KINGUSSIE TWiCE SECOND ROADSTER SPRINGS SURPRISE [BY TELEGKAFH FROM ABAYDOS]'* NEW PLYMOUTH, Saturday The public took such a keen interest in the Taranaki Trotting Club's meeting that, although the fields were small, the totalisator handled £7321 more than the last, meeting, in 1932. The racing was goo'd and some fine finishes were witnessed. F. J. Smith scored with Cash Down in the Fitzroy Handicap after a hard, tussle with Kingussie. Worthy Song led for seven furlongs, where ' Kingussie took charge, followed by Cash Down. Worthy Song made another but futile effort in the straight and Cash Down outstayed Kingussie. The rest, headed by Terraplane, were well back. Baby Triumph lost the lead in the Waitara Handicap by breaking badly at the end of a mile, Wraekless then taking over from Reception, Worthy Member and Tan John. Reception chaflenged and Tan John made a good effort, heading the Cambridge mare, but he could not reach Wraekless. Baby Triumph was fourth, followed by Worthy Member, who trotted a fine race for a green one. Ann Pointer led by three lengths to the mile in the Urenui. Handicap, but she soon surrendered the lead, to Travisque, who was followed into the straight by Native Cole and Handicapper. Halfway to the post, Native Cole, took charge, to stall off Handicapper's effort and win at double figures. Travisque was third, followed by Ann Pointer and Effie Parrish. Ken worthy, excellently driven by F. V. Cutts, scored a decisive win in the Taranaki Trotting Cup, in which Glorietta, who showed fight at the turn, was an easy second over Full Hand. Meadow King and Levity broke at the start, Bonnie Direct leading a bunched field at moderate pace for a mile and a-half. Once Kenworthy was let loose, ho came homo on his own. The win was popular.

The Moturoa Handicap furnished a thrilling finish. Worthy Song tried to win all the way, but Kingussie caught her a furlong from the judge. Both very tired, they were fighting out a desperate finish, with the honours slightly in favour of Kingussie, when Roman Chief flashed up to win by half a head. \\ orthy Song was the same interval behind and the rest were a Ions: wav back.

Baby Triumph led early in the lnglewood Handicap, but she again broke. Dollar Maid took charge and was never headed thereafter, in -spite of two lapses. Unworthy passed Baby Triumph at the back to finish second. It was an uninteresting race. Mountain Flight made a game effort to win the Omata Handicap all tho way, but tangling almost at the post, she was narrowly beaten by Roadster, who finished very solidly. Mountain Flight, Kewpie's Crest and Baron Grand wore 011 terms at the home turn, but Kcwpie's Crest wilted at tho furlong post and Baron Grand faded to third. Silk Cord and Glorietta were tho leaders at the home turn in the Farewell Handicap and Silk Cord won easily. Broughshane, who was coupled with tho , . winner, broke badly at the start, bu finished solidly into third place,
