While fully recognising the high costs of production and other difficulties confronting the industry, the electoral committee urges upon" fellow wheatgrowers the necessity to grow wheat sufficient for the Dominion's needs, and to sow as large an area as possible, with every confidence that the Government at an early date will review the price for 19:33 to meet increased costs." "(2) This meeting expresses to the Minister of Industries and Commerce its appreciation for his sympathetic attitude and his endeavours to assist tha industry in the face of strong opposition, and desires to draw the Minister's attention to the increasing difficulties under which wheat is produced through the scarcity of experienced labour, and the almost impossible position of many fanners' wives through inability to secure domestic help. 1 his, in addition to the ever-increasing costs of production, tends to make wheat-growing unattractive at present prices, and a df I creased area for the coming season £ • I probable unless some further encourage- | inent is given to growers.". jj| a I
