RETIREMENT OF JUDGES

BILL IN AMERICAN SENATE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT (Received March 28, 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, March 27 A constitutional amendment for the compulsory retirement of judges at the age of 75 has been introduced in the Senate by Mr. E. R. Burke (Democrat —Nebraska). The measure will require ratification by the State conventions within six months. JOINT ENDORSEMENT GOVERNORS OF FOUR STATES WASHINGTON. March 27 The Governors of Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and South Carolina to-day broadcast a joint endorsement of President Roosevelt's proposals for the reform of the Supreme Court. They described the proposals as the only practical and effective way for the people to obtain their wishes in the Government which was created to promote their welfare.
