' A large and representative gathering met at the Masonic Hall. To Aroha, last evening, to farewell Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Cochrane, who will leave shortly for Tauranga. Mr. Cochrane has been manager of tho To Aroha branch of tho National Bank for the past 1G years and is retiring after 40 years of service with the bank.

Mr. Cochrane was presented with a grandfather clock and Mrs. Cochrane was tho recipient of a dinner set.
