FORMATION OF FEDERATION PROPOSAL IN HAWKE'S BAY [BY TF.LEGRAPII OTVX CORRESPONDENT] HASTINGS, Tuesday "As a united front we can carry •weight, politically ahcl otherwise."- said the president of the Hawke's Bay provincial district of the Farmers' Lmon, .Mr. C .It. Edgecombe, supporting a proposal that a move should be initiated to have a federation of primary producers of the Dominion.
The proposal, raised at the February meeting of the union, was referred to all branches in Hawke's Bay, and the replies received were considered at the meeting of the executive to-day. when a resolution was passed favouring; the proposal. It was decided to ascertain the attitude of the various primary producers' organisations, including orchardists, dairy and sheep farmers, and apiarists, with the view to taking steps ta form such an organisation. It was pointed out. that, while the proposal was as yet concerned only with Hawke's Bay, it was hoped, to make the movement a Dominion-wide organisation. All the bodies concerned would have delegates on the federation and would meet at regular intervals. The federation would be independent of the Fanners' Union.
