GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
AWARDS TO FOUR STUDENTS

Four scholarships in veterinary science have been awarded this year by the New Zealand Government and three of the students selected have already left for Australia to commence their studies at the Sydney University Veterinary College The other student intends to take a course at the Royal Veterinary College, Edinburgh.
Those who have gone to Sydney are Mr. Lan G. Watt, M.Sc., Upper Hutt, George Allan Thomson, Dunedin, and 1). W. Newman, Broadwood, Hokianga. The fourth student is Mr. Lan M. Brown. He will leave New Zealand for Edinburgh in time to commence a course next October.
The four awards complete the number of scholarships ottered under the scheme announced by the Government early last year, under which young men were to be given an opportunity to qualify as veterinary surgeons. 1 aa
