WELLINGTON SCHOOL CLOSED REQUEST OF COMMITTEE [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION"") WELLINGTON, Thursday Following representations by the Wadestown School Committee, which protested against the school being reopened after a case of infantile paralysis had occurred only six days previously, and in view of the additional positive and suspected cases, the school has been closed on the instruction of the Minister of Health and Education, the Hon. P. Fraser, for the remainder of the week.

The Minister, who returned to Wellington to-day, gave instructions in the matter from Auckland, and will now consider the position further. Mr. A. Parlane, chairman of the committee, said to-day that two positive cases and one suspected case were located close to the school, and for this reason the committee considered thai adequate precautions should bo taken for tho protection of the children attending the school. The committer was still watching the position closely, and the matter would be further discussed.
