SPORTS GATHERINGS
MEETINGS AT EASTER Two sports gatherings will be held in the King Country during Easter week-end, the first, at Te Kuiti on March 27 und the second at Otorohanija ou March '2l). The programmes include cycling and athleETc events, woodchopping competitions and Highland dancing. Prize-monov totals £750, of which the Otorohanga Club will provide £450. The premier cycling race will be the New Zealand Derby, with a first prize of £SO, the two miles and one mile cycling events being worth £25 and £2O respectively. The winner of the Otorohanga Standing Chop will receive £SO, other competitions having the same liberal prizes. Entries close with the secretaries of either club on March 19 at 4 p.m.
