OBITUARY
MR. J. F. HODGSON Tho death has occurred at the Hamilton Hospital of Mr. Jonathan Foster Hodgson, a well-known resident of Huntly, at tho age of 72 years. Born at Ethcrley, County Durham, England, tho lato Mr. Hodgson canio to New Zealand when a young man and, after being engaged in fruit farming at Kawakawa and later as tally clerk for tho Union Steam Ship Company at Opua, he returned to England, where he married. Twenty-five years ago ho came again to New Zealand with his wife and family and settled in Huntly, whore ho had remained ever since. The lato Mr. Hodgson was an employee of the Taupiri Coal Mines during that time, and ho was the first weighman at the Rotowaro mine when it opened about 2u years ago, a position he occupied until the time of his death. Mr. Hodgson was predeceased by his wife nearly eight years ago. Ho is survived by ono son and five daughters. The funeral, which was largely attended, was held at Kimihia Cemetery, tho Rev. T. Carr, of Waitara, officiating.
