PASSING OF LEGISLATION HOPES FOR NEXT SESSION [BY TELEGRAPH —FRESS ASSOCIATION'] TIMAHU, Friday Speaking at Pleasant Point, Mr. Clyde Carr, M.P., national president of the New Zealand Labour Party, said the Government members of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education, of which he is chairman, were engaged under instructions* from the Minister of Education in drafting proposals based on tho recommendations of tho Atmore report for reorganisation of tho education system. These proposals, after having been submitted to the educational authorities, would be placed before the Select Committee as a whole, when further evidence would be called. A consolidation and amending bill would then j be introduced in Parliament. It was l thus hoped to expedite the passing of ! the measure during tho next session of j Parliament.
