WINDS' DECREASING ! WEATHER FAIR TO FINE ■ it. The weather report and forecast for New Zealand, issued last evening by the Government meteorologist, were as follows: —An anti-cyclone now extends from the south-west Tasman Sea in a north-easterly direction, while pressure is still rather low in the south and south-east. The forecast is for westerly to south-westerly winds predominating, moderate to strong and gradually decreasing. Seas rough in the Cook and Foyeaux Strait areas and rather rough elsewhere on the west coast and south of. East Capo, moderate north of East Capo. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to fresh but decreasing south-westerly winds; moderate to rather rough seas. There are likely to be some scattered showers in western and far southern districts and at a few places east of the ranges, otherwise fair "to fine. Temperatures cool to moderate. SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST MAINLY FAIR TO FINE The Government meteorologist issued to the Herald last evening the following special forecast for the Auckland Province: —Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, decreasing gradually.
