COLLISION IN RIVER

ITALIAN VESSEL SINKS GALE IN AMERICA VANCOUVER, Feb. 17 A message from Portland, Oregon, says the Italian motor ship Feltre and the American freighter Edward Luckenbach collided to-day in a gale in the Columbia River. The Feltre sank but the Edward Luckenbach was grounded. All hands were saved on both ships.

The Feltre, a vessel of 6101 tons, was built at Trieste. Her port of registry is Venice. The Edward Luckenbach is owned by the Luckenbach Steam Ship Company and is a slightly larger ship with a tonnage of 7916. She was built at Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1916.
