FUNICULAR RAILWAYS PROPOSED FOR NEW ZEALAND MOUNTAIN RESORTS The possibility of constructing funicular railways to several of the Dominion's major anowfields with the idea of developing them as ski-ing and mountain resorts is at present being investigated. The photograph shows a train descending from Jungfraujoch (11,385 feet), Switzerland, the highest railway station in Europe. Railways to mountain resorts are used extensively in the Swiss Alps.
