The Kairanga is to load at Newcastle to-day and she will complete her cargo at Sydney lor Auckland. The Pukeko is due here from the East Coast to-morrow afternoon, while the Pakura will arrive from the Fast Coast on Friday. The Waitaki is to leave Auckland on Friday for Wellington. She will then go to Picton, Lyttelton, Dwuedin, Oamaru and Timaru. The departure of the Port Walkato from Auckland to Wellington and Southern ports has been postponed from yesterday until this afternoon. NORFOLK TO LOAD The Federal Line steamer Norfolk is duo at Auckland from Napier to complete loading lor London and Southampton to-morrow. She will sail finally from Auckland on Tuesday. THE SCOW NGAHAU With a cargo of coal from Greymouth the scow Ngahau arrived at Tauranga on Monday night. She is discharging coal at Tauranga. for the local gasworks and she is to leave to-day for Auckland. RAMSAY REPORTS Wireless advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company from tlio British steamer Ramsay states that she will reach Auckland from Antwerp to-morrow evening She is the first of this season's slag ships. THE PORT TOWNSVILLE Leaving Wellington at 5.30 on Monday evening, the Port Line motor-ship Port Townsville will arrive here early this morning. She will berth at Central Wharf to complete loading for London. She will sail from hero for London,- via Cape Horn and Las Palmas, on Monday. ORONSAY LEAVES BRISBANE - The Orient liner Oronsay left Brisbane yesterday tor Auckland and Wellington with about 870 excursionists. The vessel is duo here at four o'clock on Friday afternoon and she will berth at Prince's Wharf. She is to sail for Wellington at midnight on Saturday and she will return from thero to Sydney. MATUA AT WELLINGTON The Union Company's island motor-ship Matua, which arrived here from Suva on Monday morning, left early yesterday morning for Wellington. She is to leave Wellington on Saturday for Auckland and will arrive here on Monday. She is to sail on Tuesday for Rarotonga, Nukualofa, Apia and Suva. WANGANELLA FROM SYDNEY The Huddart-Parker motor-ship Wanganella will arrive at Auckland at 12.30 this afti-rnoon, according to wireless advice received yesterday. She has 312-4 passengers for Auckland and she will berth at Queen's Wharf. She is to sail from Auckland for Sydney at three o'clock on Friday afternoon. ZEALANDIC TO LOAD The Shaw. Savill and Albion motor-ship Zealandic was to have cleared Brisbane yesterday for Auckland. She is due on Saturday and will go from here to Oamaru. She is to sail finally from Port Chalmers for Southampton and London, via Cape Horn, on February 26. MONTEREY TO SAIL It- is reported by cablegram that the Matson liner Monterey is expected to sail from San Francisco for Auckland on February 10. She should reach here on February 27 and should arrive at Sydney on March 2. It is proposed she should return immediately from Sydney on her north-hound trip, thus regaining her schedule, which allows for her departure from Sydney to Auckland on March £l. FINE NEW MOTOR-SHIP Mr. James Burns, chairman of directors of Burns, Philp and Company, Limited, be fore leaving England by the Orontes on January to on a visit to Australia, placed an order for the building of a tiOOO-ton motor vessel, with a service speed of 15 knots, for use in the island tiado, The new vessel wiil bo built by Barclay Curie and Company, of Glasgow. It will have a length of 390 ft. and a beam of 56ft. Accommodation will be provided for 200 first-class and 1G second-class passengers, and there will be a liberal number of and two-berth cabins. Facilities for passengers will include swimming pool, electric cooking, and spacious dining room, lounge, j cafe and smoke-room, furnished in modern style. The promenade deck will be glass | screened, and equipment will be provided for ] the screening of films and broadcasting. I Although the vessel's speed is given as 15 | knots, there will ho ample speed in reserve, j Twin screws will bo driven by single-acting Diesel engines. The company's superintending engineer. Mr. W. G. R. Snellgrove, will leave by the Ormonde on January 28 to supervise the building, which is be completed in about IS months.
