WANGANELLA FROM SYDNEY The Huddart-Parker motor-ship Wanganella will arrive at Auckland at 12.30 this afti-rnoon, according to wireless advice received yesterday. She has 312-4 passengers for Auckland and she will berth at Queen's Wharf. She is to sail from Auckland for Sydney at three o'clock on Friday afternoon. ZEALANDIC TO LOAD The Shaw. Savill and Albion motor-ship Zealandic was to have cleared Brisbane yesterday for Auckland. She is due on Saturday and will go from here to Oamaru. She is to sail finally from Port Chalmers for Southampton and London, via Cape Horn, on February 26. MONTEREY TO SAIL It- is reported by cablegram that the Matson liner Monterey is expected to sail from San Francisco for Auckland on February 10. She should reach here on February 27 and should arrive at Sydney on March 2. It is proposed she should return immediately from Sydney on her north-hound trip, thus regaining her schedule, which allows for her departure from Sydney to Auckland on March £l. FINE NEW MOTOR-SHIP Mr. James Burns, chairman of directors of Burns, Philp and Company, Limited, be fore leaving England by the Orontes on January to on a visit to Australia, placed an order for the building of a tiOOO-ton motor vessel, with a service speed of 15 knots, for use in the island tiado, The new vessel wiil bo built by Barclay Curie and Company, of Glasgow. It will have a length of 390 ft. and a beam of 56ft. Accommodation will be provided for 200 first-class and 1G second-class passengers, and there will be a liberal number of and two-berth cabins. Facilities for passengers will include swimming pool, electric cooking, and spacious dining room, lounge, j cafe and smoke-room, furnished in modern style.
