NEW FLYING-BOAT LEAVES LADY SOMERS A PASSENGER (Received January 17, 0.30 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 10 The Imperial Airways' flying-boat Contaurus, carrying the first passengers and mail ever to bo transported in a flying-boat directly from Britain on the Empire air route, departed from Southampton to-day on the first stage of its flight to Alexandria and arrived at Marseilles. The Centaurus carries a ton of mail and eight passengers, including Lady Somers, who is on her way to join her husband, formerly Governor of Victoria, who is in Australia in connection with the English cricket tour.
