MEN LEAVE RELIEF WORK HARBOUR RECLAMATION [from our own correspondent] WHANG AREI, Saturday With the recent raising of sustenance pay, the position of the relief workers employed by the Whangarei Harbour Board on reclamation works at Kioreroa has been considerably affected, and about 100 of the men have ceased work and gone on sustenance. Less than 20 men have remained on the job. As, by working, the men could only earn about .3s a week more than sustenance, they considered it a better proposition to do nothing and receive sustenance.
