MURDERED BOY
TWO SUSPECTS DETAINED DISCOVERIES BY THE POLICE (Received January 15, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, Jan. 14 A message from Everett, Washington, says two men have been detained as suspects in the Mattson kidnapping case. One is known to be a degenerate and the other is a former prisoner. A stolon motor-car containing bloodstained rags is considered to be important evidence in the case. Officials announce that tests show that the blood is that of the dead lad. The tyres on the car are the same that made the tracks near the spot where the body was found.
G-men have filed a Federal Court warrant against an unknown person in order to make the kidnapper legally a fugitive from justice, thus making a criminal of anyone who harbour.® him.
The police are believed to have found the lair of the kidnapper with the discovery of the blood-stained clothing of the boy in a shack five miles from the spot where the body was found. Additional suspects are being detained in many western cities, but Federal officers evince interest only in a few of them. The G-men are seeking more than one person in connection with the crime.
