ANNIVERSARY REGATTA LARGE NUMBER OF ENTRIES SMALL BOATS POPULAR Entries for the Auckland Anniversary Regatta, to be held on Friday, January 2D, closed last evening. The total entries for the regatta are 246, comprised of 211 from yachts and 35 from power craft. In addition, a large number of post entries are expected to be received in the race for the midget sailing dinghy class and also 35 entries in the contest for seine net fishing boats.

Compared with those for the 1036 regatta the entries are very satisfactory. In the race for V 18ft. boats no fewer than 27 have been received. Twenty-six boats have been accounted for in the race for class Z, 12ft. (iin boats, and there arc also 20 in the racn for class Y, 3'Jft. boats. The entries for tbo koel yacht races include the new A class boat Tama tea, now under construction at Northcote for Messrs. Newcomb Brothers, and Mr. J. Inkstcr's new B class yacht. Tangaroa.
