TO-DAY'S PROGRAMME GOOD FIELDS ENGAGED THE LIKELY FAVOURITES Good fields are carded for the Timaru Trotting Club's meeting to-day and there should be some excellent contests. The chief event is the President's Handicap, in which there are 13 horses engaged. The single pool system of betting will be used. WAIKATO RACING CLUB SUMMER MEETING EVENTS Stakes to tho value of £3850 will be distributed at the Waikato Racing Club's Summer Meeting on February 20 and 22. The chief race will be the Storey Memorial Handicap, of £500; ] y miles; and other good races will be the President's Handicap, of £300; six furlongs; the Vercoo Handicap, of £350; one mile; the Waikato Hack Cup, of £250; one mile; and Flying: Handicap, of £250; six furlongs.

Her owner informed the association of his intention to give her n change to the trotting gait, and Pink Lady lias been placed in the JO. S. Groat Memorial event for maiden trotters. OHINEMURI JOCKEY CLUB INCREASED STAKE-MONEY [llY TKLKORAPH —OWN CORRKSPONnTCNT] PA EH OA, Friday Thn committee of the Ohinemuri Jockey Club has decided to greatly increase the stake-money for its forthcoming race meeting, to lie held at Paeroa on March l.'i and 17, and the programme just issued shows stakes at £3850, an increase of £6OO on last year's figures. Tho principal event, the Ohinemuri Cup, has £6OO and a canteen of cutlery valued at £25, allocated as prizemoney. The principal race on the second day, the Shaw Memorial Handicap, carries £HSO, and the Kikiitaia Hack Cup. £.'500. Two hurdle races each carry £20(1 and two steeplechases with the same stakes are included in the programme. Two-year-olds are provided for by two five-furlongs sprints, carrying £l5O each. No race has a less value than £l5O.
