SOUTH AFRICAN SANCTUARYj THOUSANDS OF VISITORS [fboiToub own correspondent] JOHANNESBURG, Nov. 24 The 1936 season .of Kruger Park-* South Africa's famous game sanctuary, where motorists may see herds of all kinds of animals—has proved to be easily the most successful in its history* Final statistics show that during the season, which ended on October 31, 29,334 visitors entered the park, compared with 24,805 last year. In 1927, when the park was first thrown open to the public as a national game sanctuaiy, only three cars entered its gates. . The ever-growing volume 01 tourist traffic has made great demands on the board of trustees for accommodation and general touiist facilities. It is understood that the Government is to be approached with an appeal for a grant to tho board to enable it to carry out essential improvements ia. the paxk.
