BANK ROBBED

MAN OF GOOD FAMILY STAFF HELD UP WITH GUN A young man of aristocratic family, who has been in turn a student of agricultural science, a dancer in Montmartre, a Trappist monk, and finally an inspector for an insurance company, was convicted in Paris recently on a charge of bank robbery.

He is Adolpho Paris do Watripont, aged 04, who, according to tho prosecution, drove up to a branch bank at \ crneuil-sur-Avre ill a motor-car borrowed from a relative, walked inside, held up the stall with :i big revolver lent to him by a friend, and escaped with 150,000 francs. At the time lie was working respectably as r.n insurance inspector.

Alter being educated by Jesuits in Belgium and Jersey, Adolpho was given n farm by his wealthy relatives. But be soon tired of a country life, and wont to Paris, where he appeared as a performer in a little Montmartro cabaret. 1 hen he entered a Trappist monastery, threatening to commit suicide if ho were not admitted, but only stayed there for a few months. After taking steps to join the Foreign Legion he became nu insurance inspector.

During this amazingly varied career Adoiphe found time to get married, despite the opposition of his family to his hrido. His wife soon divorced him, (hough a child, now eight years old, was born of the marriage. Sentence of live years' imprisonment, without benefit of the First Offenders Act, was passed on Watripont.
