Papakum cricketers last evening farewelled their captain, Mr. C. S. Beeehev, who has held the position for the last 10 seasons. His resignation has been occasioned by his being transform] from Pa pa k ura to take up the position of manager of the Marton branch of the Bank of New South Wales. , , Mr. Norman Kemp, the club captain. who presided, referred in high terns to Mr. Beechey's valuable services to the club and to cricket generally in Papakura. On behalf of the members of the club, he presented MrBeeehev with an inscribed and autographed bat. Mr. Beechcy suitably replied.
