OBJECTIVE EXCEEDED FINE PUBLIC RESPONSE » - REVIEW BY THE MINISTER [BY TELEGRAPH —PKE3S ASSOCIATION] •WELLINGTON, Friday "Starting again this year with an objective of £IO.OOO, the health stamp campaign for the children's health camps throughout the Dominion has achieved a distinctive success," stated the Hon. F. Jones, Postmaster-General, in announcing that the total receipts to January 7 were as follows:—Stamps, £5758; donations, £84.43; total. £14,201. The amounts added to the credit of the health camp organisations in the chief postal districts of the Dominion are as follows:—Wellington, . £2543; Auckland, £3234; Dunedin, £1699; Christehurch, £1017; Hamilton, £595; Napier, £687; Invercargill, £401; New Plymouth. £431; Palmerston North, £456; Wanganui, £1135; Gisborne, £152; Nelson, £394 ; Thames, £243. "Although the outbreak of infantile paralyses has handicapped the various organisations .in carrying out their usual summer plans for hundreds of children," eaid the Minister, "seme use is being made of & number of camps for the benefit of groups of children from orphanages and similar institutions, and it is hoped that before the summer ends the advantages of rest, good diet, and recreation ma.y yet be provided to many under-nourished children, who gain so much benefit from these well conducted camps."
