Professor F. L. W. Wood, of Wellington, arrived by tlie limited express yesterday morning to attend thr Science Congress.
Mr. N. C. Kensington, commissioner of Crown lands and chief surveyor 111 Otago, has been appointed to a siniilm position in Canterbury.
Mr. T. E. Clark, managing-director of the Amalgamated Brick and Tile Company, Limited, returned from Wellington by train yesterday morning.
Mr. H. A. Beauchamp, managingdirector of Kodak (New Zealand), Limited, arrived from the South bv train yesterday morning. He is at the Grand Hotel.
Mr. W. S. Strong, who has been district mining engineer at Greymouth since the inception of the gold prospecting scheme, has been transferred to Wellington.
Mr. J. Coddington, after serving the Napier City Council for seven years, has accepted a position as a Government traffic inspector and will bp stationed at Palmerston North.
The Rev. Fathers A. L. Burger. S.M.. M A . •!. Kingan. S.M., 8.A.. and C. Mohan. S.M.. M.Sc.. have been appointed to t'le teaching staff of St. Patrick's College, Silverstreani.
Mr. L. W. Cousins, of the Labour Department employ menc division. Wellington. has been appointed district employment officer. Palme.rston North, and is leaving to-dav to take up his new duties.
