WEEK-END ATTRACTIONS

CRICKET CHAMPIONSHIPS INTER-CLUB ROWING EVENTS The final series of matches in the first round of the Auckland Cricket Association's senior championship com]>etition will be commenced 011 the Eden Park and North Shore grounds this afternoon. Chief interest will centre in the match between North Shore, the present champion side, which will be making its first appearance at Eden Pars this season, and University. Parnell will meet Eden on the No. 2 wicket, Y.M.C.A. will oppose Grafton on No. 3, while Ponsonby and King's Old Boys will travel to North Shore. The Auckland City and Suburban Association's series of matches, which was commenced at the Domain last week, will be finalised to-day. Races for all classes of yachts will be held at the annual regatta of the Akarana. Yacht Club on the Waiteniata Harbour. Harbour events for yachts and launches! will be decided on the Manukau. Inter-club rowing races for various trophies will be contested on the Waterfront Road course under the control of the Auckland Rowing Association.

Club and inter-club bowling games will be played 011 practically all greens in Auckland, while matches in the championship competitions of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association will be played at the Stanley Street and outside courts. Keen competition should be witnessed at the Lynndale Amateur Athletic Club's open meeting at the New I,ynn clay track, where several club championship events also will be decided.
