RECORD REGISTRATIONS FIGURES FOR DOMINION HALF-YEAR INCREASE 24,758 fnv TELEGRAPH — I'll ESS association"] WELLINGTON, Friday Registrations of motor vehicles throughout Now Zealand reached record figures for the period from June 1 to December .'<l. At the latter date the. total number registered was 210,215.'5, an increase of 21,758 over that of the corresponding term last year, representing 11.49 per cent. Increases are shown in the registration of all classes of vehicles except motor-cycles, whore there is a decrease of 15 for the whole of the Dominion. Registrations of trailers reached a total of 4580, an increase of 1080. Figures for tlio whole of Now Zealand are as follows: —
Cars, North Island. 106,205; South island, 55,571; total, 1(51,8)50. Increase, 18,1548. Trucks, 28,949, 14,205, 41),154, 0155. Other vehicles, 7859, 50157, 12,896. Motor-cycles, 1.'5,92: i, 8424, 22,347, 4.5 (decrease).
In tho Wellington district registrations of Vehicles havo reached record figures during tho period from May 1 to December HI, the total being 27,181, compared with 215,980 for the same-term last year, an increase of .'5201.
