WEDDING
BESTIC—COATES A pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Mark's Church. Hemuera, on Saturday evening, when Ailsa Jean Coatcs. of Waipu, North Auckland, elder daughter of Mrs. J. C'. McKay, of Auckland, was married to William Seddou bestic, voungcr sou of Mrs. A. Hestic, of Auckland. T lie ceremony was performed by the Hev. A. Johnston. The bride, who was given away by her father, Mr. J. C. McKay, wore a handsome period gown of French embossed satin, with a high roll collar and long, tight-fit-ting sleeves finishing in points over the wrist, buttons of the same material trimmed the back and sleeves. Jhe skirt was tight-fitting to the knees and flowed into a train at the back. She wore a head-dress of arum lilies, hues of the vallev and silver leaves, from which fell her veil of white tulle, which was worn over the face. She carried a sheaf of white roses, carnations and sweat peas tied with loops of silver ribbon. The bridesmaids were Miss Audrey Sneiling. of Maungaturoto. and Miss Pixie bestic, who wore tunic frocks of lionev-gold taffetas, made with a high gathered neckline in front, the low square hacks being trimmed with quilting. Quilting also finished the hems of the skirts and the puffed sleeves. Tliev wore posies of honey-jellow flowers and silver leaves in their hair, and carried bouquets of bronze cactus dahlias hacked h.v silver leaves. The best man was Mr. Monte Ellis, and Mr. Cyril Pepper was groomsman. Acting as ushers were Mr. Cyril Hawlev, uncle of tho bride, and Mr. F. bestic, the bridegroom's brother. brass bowls of gold gladioli and gold spring flowers looped with silver ribbon decorated the church, and the same colour scheme had been carried out at the Domain Kiosk, where the reception was held. The guests were received by Mrs. J. C. McKay, who wore a gown of black suede and lace with a black hat and carried a cyclamen-tinted bouquet. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. \. bestic, was in black crepe do soie, with a black lace coat and matching hat. Her bouquet was of cherrycoloured flowers. Mrs, M. Bates, grandmother of the bride, was in wine lace with a hat to tone, and Mrs J. Paul, the bridegroom's grandmother, was wearing black suede relieved with white and a black hat. The bride's brother. Master lan McKav, dressed in kilts, piped the wedding party in to the reception.
