OBITUARY
MRS. C. RICKARD [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Wednesday The death occurred to-day of Mrs. Catherine Rickard, of Hamilton, aged 7!) years. Mrs. lliekitrd was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. ,J. Jolly, and was born in Cornwall. She and her husband, Mr. John Rickard, came to New Zealand 31 years ago, and lived in the Manawatu district before moving to Auckland. Mrs. Rickard lived in Hamilton for 17 years. Her husband died a fortnight ago. MR. FREDERICK DOWMAN [nv TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] IN OLE WOOD, Wednesday The death has occurred of one of the best-known residents of the Inglewood district, Mr. Frederick Dowman, aged GO years. Mr. Dowman had lived practically all his life in Tafanaki. Horn at Port Levy, Banks Peninsula, he went to Purangi and for several years surveyed a large area in the Ohura and Purangi districts. He was married in IDO7 to Miss H. A. Jaeobuen at Purangi, where he afterward took up farming. His wife survives him.
