GREAT DIAMOND SHOW

ANTWERP CUTTING TRADE [I'HOM OUll OWN COItRKBPOJCHUNT] LONDON, Dec. 5 Nearly £3,000,000 worth of dinmonds will be shown at an exhibition organised by the City of Antwerp jointly with diamond cutters' trade unions, manufacturers, dealers and brokers. The committee has been promised the support of the Diamond Trading Company, London, The Colonial Department will exhibit dioramas of the mining areas in tho Belgian Congo, and visitors will see all the operations of the cutting and polishing of diamonds. •Stones worked at Antwerp are mostly from London. The value of rough diamonds dealt with in 1929, when the industry was prosperous, was £10,000,000., The value decreased to £2,500,000 in 1934, but increased to nearly £1,000,000 in 1935 and will bo more than £5,000,000 this year.
