The course was in perfect order after rain earlier in the week and the times recorded were ' good. Cuddle was the onlv favourite to score in a day of surprises, and there were some line dividends. The' best return was made by Adalene when she upset calculations in winning the Hailway Handicap, which provided a most exciting finish with two heads and half a head between the first four horses. Other winners to pay food dividends were Essex, Indolent, Kulette and Sweet Hose. The weather was fine and hot after n shower before tho first race and the attendance was estimated at 35,000. The totalisator handled £102,798, compared with £76,928 10s last year, an increase of £'25,869 10s. The occasion was tho first since 1929, when the investments amounted to £l2},-117, that the turnover on Doxing Day has exceeded £IOO,OOO. Results: —•
