FANCY DRESS BALL
RIPONUI VALLEY SCHOOL The school teachers and parents of Riponui Valley wore responsible for one of the most happy events held in tho district for some years when a fancy dress ball was carried to a most successful conclusion. Tho grand march was delightfully spectacular, and commenced a programme of modern dances, interspersed with games, recitations, solos, duets and choruses by the children. Sir Roger de Coverlev was also danced by the pupils of the school. The performance of the children reflected the greatest credit on their teacher, Mr. 1?. J. Webster, who gave much time to their training. Margaret Wrav won the prize for musical arms. Mcrvyn Rowley and Mavis Walker won the Monte Carlo waltz, and Gracio King and T. Thorburn the spot waltz. Prizes for neatness of work during the year were presented to Maisie King and Rao Rowley, while proficiency certificates went to Reg. King and Atliol Drake. A voluntary orchestra supplied the dance music.
