MURDER OF FRIEND

EARLIER MYSTERY SOLVED NEW YORK BOY'S CONFESSION NEW YORK, Dec. 20 The three months' old mystery of the disappearance of Francis Laino, aged 10. son of Dr. Frank Laino, has been solved by the confession of his chum, John Macari, aged 13, who was recently sent to a State training school for incorrigible boys. He said he had murdered Laino by striking him on the head with a lead pipe in a quarrel. Macari hid the body in an abandoned tenement where it was found by the police in a narrow clothes closet on the fourth floor. The father could not identify the body, but said the clothing resembled that which his son had worn.
