SERVICE WITHOUT LICENCE PENALTY OF £lO IMPOSED [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Monday Several charges of breaches of the Motor Transport Act were dealt with by Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M., in the Hamilton Police Court to-day. 4 A carrier, John Smyth, was fined £lO for carrying on a goods transport service without a licence, and £2 for driving without a heavy traffic licence. A fine of £3 was imposed on Sydney John Phillips for carrying a load of sheep from Tahuna to Horotiu without a service licence. William John Dally was fined £2 for driving a fully laden truck along the Main South Road at Rukuhia at' 50 miles an hour, or 20 miles in excess of the permitted speed. For operating a truck with inefficient brakes, J. A. 'H. Bell was finer! £3 and Morris Bell was fined £2.
