PENNY TRAM FARE
ABOLITION IN DUNEDIN EFFECT OF 40-HOUR WEEK [nY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] DUNEDIN, Monday Dunedin citizens may not be able to boast much longer that this is the only Dominion city with a penny tram fare for a special report of the tramways committee recommends its abolition and the charging of a cash fare of 2d for the first section. This proposal, and also concession curtailments, is necessary to find additional revenue of £24,177 required to obviate the effect of the 40-hour week.
